Classification Characters And Notations
The Class is indicated by a symbol consisting of figures and letters representing the characteristics of the Class. Class Marks and Notations are entered in the Certificate of Class, in the Register Book and in other documents issued by International Naval Surveys Bureau - I.N.S.B. as appropriate. Sequence of Symbols and Notations:
- Construction Marks
- Classification Symbols
- Hull Symbol
- Machinery Installation Symbol (if applicable)
- Division Symbol
- Rating Symbol
- Equipment Symbol
- Service notation
- Navigation Notation
Machinery installations,
which comply with the Rules of the Society for automated and/or remote controlled systems, will have additional Class notations affixed to the Classification character.
