Rules development process is considered by the INSB class society, as a fundamental
process in its Quality Management System.
A structured Quality system being audited regularly, governs the key processes
for the INSB Rules & Regulations elaboration and development.
Inputs to the society’s Rules include among others, IMO conventional
requirements, MSC circulars, IACS unified interpretations, in service feedback
and research findings.
In this direction, INSB has developed its set of Rules & Regulations, relevant
to ships design, construction & operational maintenance, in line with IACS
unified requirements.
Development and review are assigned to INSB`s Rules & Regulations Committee,
as per the QMS’s requirements and adopted procedures, whereas inputs from
implementing departments are also incorporated.
Adequacy and correctness of input data, reference materials and output are
examined during review.
Verification activities are performed for the purpose of ensuring that elaborated
Rules meet Input requirements.
The society’s set of Rules standards are updated as deemed necessary
so as to embrace and incorporate new technical requirements.
